A new study being published in the  has found that people who are heavy alcohol drinkers outlive nondrinkers, because the drinkers are/have more fun in their lives. Seriously, that’s what science says! However, what’s even better than being a heavy drinker is being a moderate drinker (1-3 alcoholic drinks a day), as the mortality rate associated with moderate drinking is the lowest of the group.

And I guess if the stress-relieving effects of alcohol can lengthen your life, weed must do so too. *hinthint*

Obviously though, even if alcohol is good for you, drinking irresponsibly can lead to a dramatically shorter life and other health issues, so exercising common sense is still the #1 way to live longer.

Police have been searching for a missing Las Vegas woman for four months without any success, only to find that she was dead inside her own house buried under mountains of decomposing garbage, food, clothes, animal feces and other gross stuff. And yes they did search the house several times, even with dogs from a unit that helped locate bodies at ground zero after Sept. 11 and Hurricane Katrina.

“For our dogs to go through that house and not find something should be indicative of the tremendous environmental challenges they faced.”

Great news for serial killers everywhere. Now you can hide bodies in the homes of hoarders and nobody will ever know.

A man from the Ivory Coast, identified by the initials A.B., tried the dumbest thing ever. He went to UAE’s central bank and tried to exchange two $1 million bills for smaller US bills or UAE dirham. And in an attempt to improve the chances of his scheme, he promised a woman employee of the bank 30% of the money if she helped him.

Of course, his plan worked just as well as BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil rig.

The phony notes he tried to pass featured the $1 portrait of George Washington and were mostly black and white on the front. Which is totally how $1 million bills would look like if they were real, right?

Maybe he should have printed himself a brain first.

A crew member on a British Airways flight accidentally played an emergency message warning passengers that the plane they are on is about to turn into a submarine.

“This is an emergency. We may shortly need to make an emergency landing underwater on water.”

How could something like that happen by accident? A passenger told The Sun that “the pilot hit the wrong button because they were so close together.” Guess it’s not just Japanese sumo players who have fat fingers and have trouble pressing only one button at a time.

And if you’re thinking that an event like this is harmless, imagine having to fly the rest of the way with half the passengers needing a change of shorts. Not to mention that the anticipation of death is probably worse than death itself.

Video footage of the 33 miners trapped inside the collapsed gold and copper mine in Chile shows that they are in good spirits. That is despite having just been told that it could be as many as four months before they’re rescued and eating just two little spoonfuls of tuna, a sip of milk and a biscuit every 48 hours for two weeks.

Supplies and small games are now being lowered regularly to keep the miners in good health conditions. But what I think they really need is some computers with World of Warcraft on them. That’s the only thing that can make living four months in a hole that’s 700m underground bearable (and that’s a fact).
