Not that anyone really cares anymore at this point, but the results from Amy Winehouse’s toxicology test are back. And what’s surprising about them is that contrary to everyone’s initial guesses, authorities say no illegal substances were detected in Amy’s system at the time of her death. The only substance they found in her alcohol was blood, but it’s too soon to tell if it played a role in her death. (Get it? They found blood in her alcohol. Oh the joy of being easily amused.)
Of course, this doesn’t mean the years of (illegal) drugs didn’t take a toll on her body or that the involvement of drugs has been completely ruled out. It’s still entirely possible that she OD’d on “legal” drugs.
Bruce A. Goldberger, a toxicology professor at the University of Florida, said the negative toxicology result does not completely rule out the involvement of a drug or a combination of drugs that could have been missed by the testing procedures or were metabolized before the test.
He said some prescription drugs, illicit drugs and “designer” drugs can escape detection.
Anyway, since the toxicology report has been released on the day Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith allegedly called it quits and nobody wants to hear about Amy’s death, here’s your reward for checking out this post:
