Things aren’t going too well for Libyans these days.

Yesterday, Gaddafi’s forces pushed the rebel army further back after winning the battle of Brega, regaining much of the territory it had lost in recent weeks. They’ve done so despite being the target of airstrikes from the Western coalition, which I imagine must be very discouraging for the revolutionaries.

And while talking of airstrikes, a doctor in eastern Libya has told the BBC that a NATO airstrike has killed seven civilians and injured another 25 after it hit a truck carrying ammunition. The direct hit happened on the streets of a village near Brega and resulted in a hail of shrapnel being sent into nearby houses. All the dead were between the ages of 12 and 20, with 4 of them female.

I’m hoping this won’t turn into yet another war where civilians end up suffering the most casualties. coughafghanistancough
