WTF?
Two British men who made £250,000 operating an illegal online sperm bank business from their basement were spared a jail sentence and ordered to pay a £15,000 fine (each), complete 200 hours of unpaid work and cover the prosecution costs. They got in trouble after a woman filed a complaint when the name of a supposedly anonymous sperm donor was visible on his medical tests and she was refused a refund.
To give you an idea about the scale of their business and why I’m wondering if women are really this desperate, they had nearly 800 women who signed up for their service. A service that had a £80 joining fee and a further £300 for a monthly delivery of sperm, plus courier fees of £150 for each delivery. That adds up to £450 (or $700) a month to receive sperm from an online sperm bank operating under names like “Sperm Direct Limited” and “First4Fertility.”
I can understand an old man trying to buy the blue pill online from a shady source, he’s rash and senile, but are women desperate enough to order sperm online? I guess the answer is obvious, but still… why not just go out to a bar and pick a random donor from there? Same risks, but a lot cheaper and it might even be fun.
