For those with the misfortune of having lived in Australia 2.5 million years ago, it wasn’t just spiders, crocs and snakes that presented deadly dangers. Cute wombats were on that list too.

Queensland paleontologists have just uncovered the world’s largest masupial, a 14-foot wombat weighing 6.000 pounds. To give you an idea about how massive that is, picture a white rhinoceros. Then picture massive tusks on it. Then picture yourself throwing a rock at it and running for your life, but failing to save yourself because a truck-sized tarantula decided you look like dinner.
