Even though Greece is broke and could be declared bankrupt in a matter of weeks, the Greek government has stocked up on M1A1 Abrams tanks.

They’ve received 400 of them in a free concession agreement with the U.S. Congress, but Greece will have to spend tens of millions of dollars to refurbish and upgrade them. Also, there’s a chance the tanks might be slightly radioactive as the result of using depleted uranium in their rounds and armor plating. I guess that was to be expected, though, because the cost of 400 M1A1 Abrams tanks would have been somewhere around $3 billion dollars – which is $3 billion more than Greece can afford.

Its economy may be in the toilet, but I guess you could say Greece has declared war on debt.
