Just one of the reasons why you should always wear a helmet.
During an Onondaga protest against helmet laws by a group of stupid bikers, 55 year old Philip A. Contos hit the brakes of his Harley Davidson too hard and flipped over the handlebars, hitting his head on the pavement. The accident killed him.
New York state troopers said a helmet would have likely saved his life but made no mention of what happened to the rest of the biker group. My guess is they instantly dropped the protest, put their helmets on and promised each other to never ride without helmets again.
But wait, there’s more! This accident isn’t just a hilarious lesson in safety, it’s also a lesson about the meaning of words. If you have a kid who doesn’t know what irony is, you can now use this fantastic example to teach him! Ka-pow, double win!
