Because he was born without his left forearm and already had a hook built into his prosthetic limb, an inventive British man by the name of Trevor Prideaux had the genius idea of also building a smartphone into it. I mean, why not? A pirate with a smartphone is better than a pirate without one!
Anyway, the idea came to him after he realized that he wouldn’t be able to use touch-enabled smartphones with only one hand, as he’d need to use his one good arm to balance the devices on his prosthetic arm, making things incredibly difficult.
To remedy that situation, he contacted medical experts and Nokia chiefs and in a matter of weeks an arm with a slot for his Nokia C7 was ready for him to use. Why a Nokia, you ask? Because Apple refused to give him a blank iPhone casing to test out and make a mold of.
Now when I get call I can either hold my arm up to my ear or put it on speaker phone. I can also take it out if I need to. Texting is also much easier and a lot safer.
I don’t know how safe it is for him to hold his arm up to his ear given that he’s got a hook at the end of it, but if he gets a glass eye he could put a red LED inside of it and pretend he’s Terminator. A very early build of Terminator.
