Probably unaware of the fact that their country is the fattest in Europe, a team of British scientists from the University of Exeter have created a 3D printer that prints… chocolate!

It’s in prototype phase right now and needs more tweaks before it can rival professional chocolatiers, but because of its enormous appeal several companies have already expressed interest in the device.

The chocolate printer works in the same way as any other 3D printer. It starts with a flat, cross section image, and then it adds layers to it to form a plump 3D shape.

And while it’s a pretty neat idea, it was the last thing we needed in a world already struggling with obesity.
