Incompetent douchebag?

News agencies are reporting that BP’s Chief Executive, Tony Hayward, has been enjoying a relaxing weekend – by taking a sailing trip in the Isle of Wight to participate in a yacht race.

Needless to say, his action has provoked sharp criticism all over the world. But is the criticism well deserved? BP spokesman Robert Wine seems to think it is not. He says: “He’s spending a few hours with his family at the weekend. I’m sure that everyone would understand that.”

Well, the desire is understandable, that’s true. I mean, who wouldn’t want to blow off some steam given the pressure he’s under, right? But there is a big difference between understanding the desire and actually agreeing with him going out and doing it.
