Vuvuzela buzzing & baby crying = violence?

Ever since the start of this FIFA World championship I’ve been annoyed by the constant vuvuzela buzz that’s heard during each and every match (good thing I’m not really following all of them). I don’t see the point of the buzzing, and I think that even if the vuvuzela horn is part of the South African local culture, abusing it that does more harm than good. I mean, who will have positive thoughts when they hear the word vuvuzela in the future? I certainly won’t, and I’m pretty sure most of the the world won’t either.

Not allowed!

Note that this information is supported by UN reports (beginning of page 134), the UN Envoy to Somalia Ould Abdallah, journalists and of course the Somali people.

Re:start

It’s been over a year since I’ve last worked on this blog. I kinda missed it, but at the same time, not really. OK, that needs a little explaining.

Everyone knows that if you don’t absolutely love doing something, it won’t be long before it starts feeling like a chore and your motivation to do it drops drastically. What is less known, though, is that even when you love doing something, other details can still turn it into a chore. Like taking it too seriously – which I am guilty of.

The part that I missed about blogging is connecting with people from all over the world and sharing stuff. It sounds cliche, and I know that all the social networks are focused on sharing, but this is different. Those ecosystems are not owned by you, and often times they have serious privacy issues (hint: Facebook). They also lack freedom, have a lot of spam and advertising, and you can only share with a limited audience. Running your own thing solves all of those problems.
