Make love, not porn (video)

I’ve been a ForaTV subscriber on YouTube for a while but have rarely seen truly interesting videos posted by them. That is, until recently.

This talk by Cindy Gallop is about a subject that is still taboo for many, human sexuality.

Expressing concern at the effects of the “creeping ubiquity of hardcore pornography” into pop culture, advertising consultant Cindy Gallop explains the origins and goals of her website, Make Love Not Porn (www.makelovenotporn.com). Gallop describes the site as a forum for young adults to learn and speak frankly about sexuality.

I found it very interesting and I think it has a good educational value for parents (and not only).

Rain – an After Effects project [video]

This is a practice project I’ve composed in After Effects from some images found online. The quotes are by Constantin Brancusi (1st one) and Aristotle (2nd one). It took me a week to render it, as the weather decided not to cooperate and made trees fall on power lines. In the end, though, I think it was worth being persistent.

In case you’re not following the TED talks, here’s a brilliant and funny one from the TED 2010 conference, by Sir Ken Robinson. He makes the case for a radical shift from standardized schools to personalized learning – creating conditions where kids’ natural talents can flourish.

Sure, a linear education system has its merits, but it’s biggest flaw is that it doesn’t encourage creativity. And these days, we need a lot of creativity to solve our problems. Video after the break:
