A 17-year-old Chinese boy by the name of Xiao Zheng has done the stupidest thing any healthy human being could possibly do. He has sold one of his kidneys to buy an iPad 2 and an iPhone (4?). Totally not worth it!
Now, I know what you’re thinking. “OMG WHY DID HIS PARENTS LET HIM DO SUCH A THING?” And the answer to that question is: they didn’t know until afterwards, when they asked him how he got the money to buy expensive gadgets.
And to make a horrible situation worse, the kid sold his kidney to someone he found on the internet.
“When I surfed the internet I found an advert posted online by an agent saying they were able to buy a kidney.”
The kidney was sold for only 20,000 yuan (~$3,079) and the boy has been suffering medical complications ever since. And those will likely continue as he clearly doesn’t have any money left for medical treatment.
I’m really curious how he’s going to react when the iPad 3/4/5/6/x will be launched.
