Lotsa' lights.
Colombian elite troops in Blackhawk helicopters sneaked in the remote Macarena mountain range on a very festive mission. They had to dress a 25m (82ft) high tree with 2,000 lights – motion sensing ones.
Movement sensors will make the tree light up when guerrillas approach. The army says it will put up trees in nine other rebel-held zones to spread the message that Christmas is a good time to abandon armed struggle.
The code name of the op was “Operacion Navidad ” (Operation Christmas) and it has to be the most awesome operation ever done. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be effective too. ‘Cause you know, what could possibly be better than a Christmas tree with 2,000 lights to make insurgents see the light?
Below is the making of video for the operation. Happy Holidays!
