Unrelated.

A court in Vinnytsya, Ukraine, ordered a trade union activist to undergo a forced psychiatric examination after prosecutors argued that he is suffering from “excessive awareness of his own and others’ rights” and an “uncontrollable readiness to defend these rights in unrealistic ways.

The activist, Andrei Bondarenko, has campaigned for the rights of employees in his region since 2006 and his work has often exposed unlawful local officials. He has already undergone three psychiatric examinations to prove his sanity and has no record of mental illnesses – other than excessive awareness of his rights and the readiness to defend them.

Sounds like the old Soviet methods of dealing with dissidents are creeping back into that country. Which is too bad, because Ukraine seemed to be on a good path for a while.
