Socialnomics author Erik Qualman claims that porn is no longer king of the interwebz, internet users these days being more interested in poking each other on Facebook rather than self pleasure.
Take that claim with a huge, bulging mountain of salt though, because Erik’s work seems to be somewhat… sloppy.
In the video he made to present his latest findings, Erik has at least two typos: “Darth Vadar” (at 2:00) and “Digitial” (at 3:12). I know they’re small mistakes, but the fact that he didn’t bother to double check the spelling in his promo video is making me doubt the quality of his “research.” For all we know it’s entirely possible that he missed a 0 when compiling data about the number of people using the internet for porn.
