The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) estimates that the Egyptian government’s five-day block of Internet services cost the national economy around $18 million per day, adding up to at least $90 million lost during the blockade.
On top of that, the organization says Egypt could find it “much more difficult in the future to attract foreign companies and assure them that the networks will remain reliable.”
Classy move by the Mubarak regime, taking the country’s economy down with it.
