Although still nowhere near as wealthy as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg is getting really rich, really fast, his net worth increasing by $4.5 billion in the past six months alone.
Thanks to a Facebook investment made by GSV Capital Corp earlier this week which put the value of the popular social networking site at $70 billion, Zuckerberg’s net worth is now sitting at a comfortable $18 billion (up from $13.5 billion in March), $1 billion more than the Google’s founders. This makes Zuck the third richest man in the global technology sector, only behind Microsoft’s Bill Gates ($56 billion) and Oracle’s Larry Ellison ($39.5 billion).
However, it will be very interesting to see what will happen to that insane growth after Google Plus catches on. He knows it won’t be good for him, and his profile picture on Google+ shows it.
