I’m not sure when “a Germany” became the standard measurement for holes in the ozone, but for those of you who aren’t talented at envisioning the multiplied area of random countries, five Germanies = ~one Libya = ~690 Luxembourgs. Or if you prefer actual numbers, the hole is 2 million square kilometers.
