Thank you for using leaky code.

Starting March 28, the New York Times will feature a $50 million paywall allowing non-subscribers to read only 20 articles per month. To get past that limit, one has 4 choices. The first three involve paying for a subscription package (process that takes many clicks and leaves you poorer), while the fourth involves a single click.

A Canadian coder by the name of David Hayes has created a simple bookmarklet that, in one click, makes the Times’ paywall disappear faster than a Libyan military jet.

NYTClean

To use it, all you have to do is drag the NYTClean link above to your browser’s bookmark bar and click it anytime you’re on a blocked NYTimes page. Alternatively, you can simply copy & paste the code below in the address bar and activate it by pressing Enter.

javascript:(function() {var s=document.createElement(‘script’);s.setAttribute(‘src’,'http://toys.euri.ca/nyt.js’);document.getElementsByTagName(‘head’)[0].appendChild(s);})();

The New York Times is now free.

Enjoy.
