Maybe another time, I'm going to watch some anime now.

According to a biennial government study carried out last September and published on Jan. 12, Japan is facing a big problem: sexlesness.

Out of the total 1.716 men and women aged 16-49 surveyed by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, 18 percent of adult males said they had no interest in or had an active aversion to sex (8 percent increase from 2008) while the percentage of women with the same answer was 48 percent (11 percent increase). Even more worrying is the increase in the 16 to 19 year old range, where the percentage of males uninterested in sex was 36.1 percent (up from 17.5), while among females it rose from 46.9 percent to 58.5 percent.

Things are no better for married couples either, with 40.8 percent of them being considered “sexless” (no sex for a month or more), up from 31.9 percent in 2008.

The reasons for the decline in Japanese sex drive? Unknown, but I’m willing to make up for the loss and help repopulate Japan. Snarkiness aside, it’s quite sad that this is happening. A declining birth rate combined with an increasing number of elderly people creates a major population imbalance, which is never healthy for a nation.

YOU NEED MOAR TENTACLES, JAPAN!
