Unrelated. Or is it?
The UK government has given the go-ahead to a plan that would allow popular petitions (100,000+ signatures) to be debated in Parliament and possibly become bills. And even though a past petition on the Downing Street website had 50,000 people signing up to the idea that Jeremy Clarkson should become prime minister, I still think the plan is exciting and has potential. Sure, the internet might sometimes lack maturity when it comes to sensible debate, but the only way it’s gonna mature is if it’s given the chance to do so.
