Japanese NISSAN Skyline R34 GTR police car.
As if Japan wasn’t awesome enough already, their cops aren’t corrupt pigs living outside the law (as it is the case in most other countries).
A Kyoto officer left his police car on the sidewalk in front of a police box for about five minutes to step inside and check a map. A local resident spotted the car, reported it to the police, and the officer was issued a ticket for illegal parking.
There was still around 3.6 meters of open space next to the parked car, enough for pedestrians to pass. The officer reportedly said, “I though it would be OK if I only parked for a little while.”
Where I live, if I was to report a police officer for illegal parking, I’d most likely get ignored, or arrested if I insisted, so I have to tip my hat to Japan for what they did.
