Wikileaks’ Julian Assange celebrated his 40th birthday recently and even though he’s still under house arrest and his $1.3 million book deal is gone, he tried to invite some big names to his birthday party. Among them, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue.
Of course, he might as well have tried to invite Obama, Superman, Batman, the Queen of England and Nyan Cat, because the chances of them showing up would have been the same.
What’s really funny about this whole deal, though, is that the party invitations included instructions on where to land helicopters and private jets – a sign Julian really expected Pitt and Angelina to show up. Which is kind of sad if you think about it… It’s like a child sitting by the Christmas tree patiently waiting for Santa to come, only to be disappointed.
