After many months (six?) of incessant fighting between Libyan rebel troops and the forces of Col. Muammar Gaddafi, the war-torn country may soon embrace a future without the carpet-wearing man as its leader.

Rebel fighters made significant advances over the weekend, taking control of many of the capital’s (Tripoli) streets and capturing three of Gaddafi’s sons (one of them escaped after being captured), and even though the fighting continues and Gaddafi’s whereabouts are unknown, many are already calling it GG. Among them is President Barack Obama, who released a statement earlier saying:

The situation is still very fluid. There remains a degree of uncertainty and there are still regime elements who pose a threat. But this much is clear: The Gaddafi regime is coming to an end, and the future of Libya is in the hands of its people.

And finally, the only news that most people really care about: Oil prices are falling together with the Libyan regime. Driving a gas guzzler doesn’t cost a fortune anymore! Time to take that ol’ truck out for a spin.
