Although this hasn’t been verified by any credible sources (only “evidence” is this very graphic pic), some say that Libyan soldiers are shooting civilians with .50 BMG bullets. If you’re not familiar with heavy weapons and ammo, below is a picture that puts the round in perspective.

I know that ultimately the size of the bullets used doesn’t matter (they’re all meant to kill), but if the Libyan government is using the heaviest of heavy weapons on its civilians chances are that the situation is a lot worse than everyone thinks.

PS: .50 cal rounds are usually used to stop cars or bring down helicopters. They’re also able to penetrate most commercial brick walls and concrete cinder blocks.
