Hege Dalen and her spouse, Toril Hansen, have become national heroes in Norway after they used their boat to save 40 children from the murderous rampage of Anders Breivik (who’s a Christian).
The couple was having dinner in an area close to the campsite on Utoya Island when the shooting started. Upon hearing gunfire and seeing young people run panicked into the lake, they pushed their boat into the water and started picking up victims to transport them to the safety of the mainland. Because they couldn’t fit everyone on the boat at once, they had to do four trips in between which they noticed there were bullet holes in right side of their boat – but they didn’t let that stop them.
So why did news of their bravery surface only now, more than a week after the incident? Because they’re a lesbian couple and some media doesn’t take kindly to these barbarians. That, or they simply didn’t talk to a journalist until now. Either way, God bless lesbians!
