In time for the beach season.

A team of Japanese researchers has hopes of resurrecting a mammoth in the next five or six years.

The resurrection process involves using cloning technology to insert the nuclei of mammoth cells into the empty egg cell of an elephant in order to create an embryo containing mammoth genes. The embryo will then be inserted into an elephant’s womb in the hope that it will eventually give birth to a baby mammoth and not an elemoth or Cthulhu.

If everything goes to plan and the researchers succeed, we will have resurrected an ice-age pachyderm just in time for global warming. Awesome!
