expensive =/= good taste
In an effort to gain publicity, a hotel in Abu Dhabi has bought a $10,000 Christmas tree and decorated it with over $11m worth of jewelry – necklaces, gold watches, diamonds, pearls, emeralds and sapphires.
Personally, I’m not surprised they did it considering all the oil money they’re bathing in. But I wonder if they’ll ever have enough money to buy themselves some better taste. Because seriously, putting expensive watches in a Christmas tree is like using gold-plated toilet paper – it makes you look like a tasteless douchebag. This simple tree looks infinitely better than the $11m abomination (but there’s nothing media-worthy about it).
