Who's your daddy and what does he do?
Everyone was surprised when former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, announced their separation last week after 25 years of marriage. It seemed a bit odd that they did that out of the blue. But as the LA Times has revealed today, there’s a good explanation for it. As it turns out, Schwarzenegger had a child with “a longtime member of [his family's] household staff” and has been hiding it for over 10 years.
“After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago,” Schwarzenegger told the Times in a statement that also was sent to The Associated Press early Tuesday. “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry. “I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time,” the statement concluded. “While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not.”
Going past his obvious mistake of chasing tail while married (bad Schwarzy, bad!), what I can’t comprehend is why the hell a man of his statute didn’t use birth control when doing so. I mean, there are condoms and pills everywhere! And it’s not like he couldn’t afford buying them, or afford not using them. It just boggles the mind…
Anyway, this is how I imagine he admitted the child was his:
Maria: So, what’s this I hear about you having a love child?
Arnold: It’s not a rumah.
PS: I’m impressed that he managed to keep it hush-hush for so long and through so many things. If anyone would have found out about it he wouldn’t have had any chance at winning the governor seat. “Yes, I cheated on my wife, but you should trust me to govern you.”
