According to the Guardian, this Twitter account belongs to the Taliban.
Apparently the Islamist group has been part of the social media revolution since 2010, constantly posting updates about their war against the invaders United States.
They weren’t too popular having only ~220 followers, but after the Guardian broke the story about their presence online around 5 hours ago, their followers have exploded to over 9000.
Who would have thought people with 7th century mentalities can be so media-savvy in the 21st century.
