The purpose of that list is to help Google target you with ads that are relevant to your interests, so that both you and their advertisers get the best experience out of their services. And while that sounds innocent in theory, the reality is that it’s a little creepy since the list of interests can be so accurate. It’s like having a stalker, except it’s not a person stalking you, it’s a bunch of computers in a network. and.they.know.everything. But you can opt out of the service, so that’s great.
