After an American military unit was unable to clear the village of Tarok Kolache and eliminate the Taliban insurgents hiding there, Lt. Col. David Flynn decided to take the whole village out. Airstrikes and ground-launched rockets used “49,200 lbs. of ordnance” to achieve that goal, resulting in what you can see below.
Apparently no civilians were killed, although nobody entered the village to check who was residing there.
