A group of 14 noted professors including evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins and eminent historian Sir David Cannadine have launched a new British university that they say will offer the “highest-quality” education to “gifted” undergrads.

The institution is called the New College of the Humanities and attending it for one year will set a gifted student back £18,000 ($30,000). With such a fee, I’m wondering what they really mean when they say it’s for the “gifted.” Gifted with rich parents perhaps? That must be it.

Anyway, the college will open its doors in September 2012 and will initially offer eight undergraduate humanities degrees, three “intellectual skills” modules and some practical professional skills. The best news about it is that if you have $30k burning a hole in your pocket or bank account you can choose to apply right now!
