I’ve recently watched “The Stoning of Soraya M.,” which is a moving drama set in Iran and centered on an abusive man who sets up his wife to be stoned to death so he could marry his mistress. Having that story and its violent images still fresh in my mind made reading this news piece rather disturbing.
Stoning is execution by torture, an act of sheer barbarism and a hideous crime against humanity. How fucked up is Islam to keep practicing this kind of shit?
